A burning candle is an integral element of coziness in the house, it gives us peace and fills the space with aroma. However, it is also an open flame that needs to be handled properly. So that candles bring only warmth, comfort and a pleasant aroma to your home, I have collected a few simple rules for using candles:
Burn the candle for at least 2-3 hours each time you use it. This helps the molten wax reach the edges of the container and prevents tunneling.
Don’t burn the candle for more than 4 hours at the time. After burning, the candle should cool down within 2-3 hours.
If the candle has been burning for more than 4 hours and has a high flame, then be careful when you take the candle in your hands. It can be hot.
Each time before you relight your candle, trim the wick to 1/4inch length. This prevents a large and unstable flame and your candle will burn longer.
Keep the burning candle out of the reach of children and pets.
Never burn the candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep away from drafts, books & paper, draperies & furniture and other flammable items.
Place the burning candle on a heat safe surface or use a stand.
Never leave a lit candle unattended. Be sure to extinguish the candle before leaving the room (home) or before going to bed.
Don’t burn the candle all the way down. For safety, extinguish the candle when there is 1/4inch of unmelted wax left in the vessel.
